I am in the process of building shifters for my doubler. But a sawzall is just not going to cut it. heh. So, I was wondering if anyone near by has one. I already have the design marked out so it will only take a few minutes. A torch would do too. I left a little excess in the pieces just in case. And a torch would help with the few bends I need to make too.

OK, since no one seems to have one, I am going to rent one. Most likely Thursday, but if I have any interest, I will hold off until Saturday. So, does anyone have any interest in using it this Saturday, June 19?

I don't know if a nibbler would work. I need to cut 1/4" steel. Which is why a torch would be nice in the bending part, but I have a welder, so if bending iss too much of a pain, I'll just cut a straight line, and weld it back on.

And I appreciate the offer but I think it would cost me more in gas to get up there and back than it will to rent a plasma cutter for the day. Not to mention the time I could be working on it.

PM Greg72, he has a plasma cutter and is close to you. I know he is busy though with trying to get his trailer axles back underneath it and also getting the new truck ready for his future move to the east coast but its worth a shot. /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif
