I am thinking of changing my major from Secondary English/Literature education to Political Science. This is the last semester I can easily change my major without losing credits. I would really like to get into law school one day, but if I do not, what else can I use a Political Science major to do?
    thanks,
    James

Unless your mission in life is convincing other people that you know how to spend their money better than they do, I'd stick with the major you already have.

Second that. I don't know anyone with a poli-sci major that didn't either go to law school or get a MPA.

I'm torn between English and Political Science.. hmm, that just might be a good choice.. I'm gonna look into that. I'm not sure if I would have enough HOPE scholarship money to pay for that.. But you have definitely got me thinking

While there are plenty of people out there with bull$hit degrees, in the long run, unless you need that specific degree to do your job, just having any BS or BA is a good thing. By the way, you can teach, there are various government/military positions, and multiple other things that don't directly relate to poli sci.

You can teach, as has been said.. just don't let the poli - sci professors turn you into a democrat.. we'll have to disown you. get ready for the brainwashing..

TRUE STORY: My cousin steve graduated from Pitt with a masters in education.. his minor throughout his college career was political science..

he was going to college in the early 90's. in 1994, He was shocked to learn that the democrats controlled congress for 40 years before newt gingrich came along.. I was always telling him that, but until the tv talking heads said so, he didn't believe it.. he always believed everything was reagans fault, and that congressional democrate were just bystanders..

he got so pissed at me when I told him his poli - sci classes must not be worth a crap if he didn't know which party was the majority in congress.. anyway, he's still a lib, but the moral is go to college if you have to, but don't be shocked that you may know more than the guy you're paying to teach you.

My wife is a poli-sci major w/a MPPA. She interned with the governor during grad school. When she graduated she went to work for the legislature. Now she is a budget analyst for the legislature. She love it but we also have an understanding similar to a bar...no politics are allowed to be discussed.:haha:
