I don't know if this has been posted yet or not so I'll post it again for those that haven't seen this yet. I was totally devistated....

I got this on the shop talk list @ autox, Speedvision was recently bought by
Fox and is possibly going to an all NASCAR format. Below is a link to the
petition to request their reconsideration. I have also included the text of
the petition below.

http://www.petitiononline.com/svsn/petition.html

To: FOX television and affiliates
This petition is intended to discourage FOX television from transforming the
newly-purchased Speedvision network into an all-NASCAR channel. We
understand the significant investment FOX has made in promoting stock car
racing, but we do ask that changes made to the format of the network be made
with a minimal amount of disruption to the other outstanding programming
presently shown on the totally unique Speedvision network. Speedvision
provides a crucial service to the motorsports community, being the only
cable or broadcast TV network in America to provide in-depth coverage of
Formula 1, vintage, motorcycle, sports car and endurance racing, as well as
amateur and other lesser-known series and events such as FIA and SCCA
rallies, Trans-Am, and the annual SCCA Valvoline Runoffs. This season’s
flag-to-flag coverage of the Daytona, Sebring and LeMans endurance races was
a rare blessing for racing fans. It would be a crime for this outstanding
coverage to no longer be available to the growing motorsports community of
this country. We ask FOX for caution, moderation and fairhandedness as they
reformat this new addition to their fine news, sports and entertainment

What a drag - even though Speedvision is already pretty much the SCCA and Infomercials only channel.

Me neither. I watch that station because they are the only channel that shows non-nascar stuff.

I like to watch an occasional NASCAR race, but 24x7? What the hell would they show?

I'm a huge NASCAR fan, but I like watching the muscle car shows and some of the road racin etc because ESPN(or anyone else for that matter) doesn't do full coverage of those events. Many channels have NASCAR and Winston coverage and the major races are nationally televised, so a all NASCAR channel is not needed.

I love watching the Euro rally racing. That's some driving skill there... And some daring, insane fans! Standing 2 feet from the course with only a knee-high plastic fence between them and the cars.
Plus, they actually have light-civil aviation coverage, and I think they cover the Reno air races, too. NO other channel has that!

I was #44,075 to sign the petition. I think my wife will be #44,076...[IMG]

I'm a NASCAR fan, but I agree, keep Speedvision as it is.

Heck, I'm amazed that Fox can find enough to fill their "Totally NASCAR" 30 minute show on their Sports Network. What are they going to do, run footage of old races?!? Sounds like FUN!

I don't particularly like NASCAR that much. Usually, I'll want to watch trucks TV or something like that and it's cancelled because of a friggen circle race. Woopie. Yea. Let's watch them go in a circle for 3 hours. Sheesh! We started getting Speedvision and that's what the TV is on usually. I enjoy watching the ralley race and stuff. You don't get to see a lot of the stuff they show anywhere else. Variety is a good thing! I don't understand why they think that every motorsports fan out there wants to see circle racing 24x7...........uh....no we don't!

Did ya'll see that one comment that said, "I'M ALREADY ON THE EDGE, IF YOU TAKE SPEEDVISION AWAY, I'LL LOSE IT!!!!!"

I about died when I saw that! LOL!!

I've got a mind like a . . . a . . . what's that thing called?
