I've worked for this corporation for nine years. They treat me right $$$$ wise, but since my promotion, and subsequent changes in management, this place has turned into a flippin' circus. No, this ain't no pity party thread, but good Lord, I used to look forward to work, but now the people in charge have no clue about our product, or our industry in general. Buncha clowns with degrees, and "management experience". The voices in my head are getting hard to ignore. Any of y'all in a similar predicament?

Been there, quit that. Current company is by far the best I've worked for.

Nothing worse than hating where you work IMO. You spend so much time there it should at least be tolerable...

I know how you feel sir... It's the same management though...

I've been there 4 years now, I'm the very very rare exception to no raises for bellmen... It seems the longer I work there the less respect I get... Of course I do work for a lady who has less and less patience for practical jokes and extreme sarcasm :haha: :doah: :doah:

But yeah, I'm going to try to stick it out till the end of summer... find a part time job, donate some plasma, sell a kidney... Whatever I need to do to get enough cash to move out of the state... Of course it would help if I found a job in the new town also...

Anyway, yes, I lie in bed hoping that I'll have a heart attack or something and die so I don't have to get up and go to work... Then walk in 15 minutes late, not giving a crap because no one will say anything and if they do I'll just come to work on time for a week and they'll shut up for a while...

OMG that's the funniest thing i've ever read! :haha:

my job sucks large spheres too.

i'm a glorified Jiffy Luber. yes, i work for a motorhome manufacturer, on the chassis line. as the completed chassis come to me i get to install intercooler pipes, air filters, and batteries. then lube the chassis, and fill all of the fluids. the only cool thing about it is that i get to be the first one to hear 10 brand new Cummins engines fire up every day.

    Dont Get Me Started!!!

Yes,I hated just about ALL the jobs I had!..even the ones that were "fun" at first..they got boring,co-workers were always being irritable and bossy, and of course the bosses were anal retentive, and always hoping for you to make a mistake,or walk in late,so they could treat you like a first grader...I grew very weary of being treated that way..living like a robot..not a human..I hated waking up each day..you know your life sucks when you hope you'd DIE before the sun rises again, rather than "go to work"...

That's why I worked my butt off for 20+ years, and saved 1/3 of every paycheck (or more) and stashed it in the bank, where it was difficult for me to access it ..(because most banks are only open the exact hours you work--now isn't THAT conveinient??)..that way I had less "disposable income" to spend at the bar, liquor store,or other things, like more K5's and GM trucks!

Too bad I didn't do it for THIRTY years before I quit!..

I decided to work for myself..but guess what boys and girls..THAT CAN SUCK TOO!..almost as bad as working for someone else can!..you'll work harder and longer, for less pay than you ever got "over the counter"..but its nice to be able to get up when you WANT too, instead of when you HAVE too..and not fight that freeway mob every day..but you need lots of ambition and motivation, and above all, good health!..my self employment days have about ended, unless I find a suitable occupation I can do at home..my health is shot, and so is my bank account...:doah: :(

I know how you feel. Somedays, I love my job. Other days, like today, yesterday, the last two days that I worked before that, I go around feeling like everyone I'm forced to talk to should be on the receiving end of a piledriver to the hard concrete. The place can resemble a Ringling Brothers performance gone wrong and it takes all the restraint in the world for me to not take my Taser and see if it's possible to hardwire it into my brain to see if it will relieve me..............................................:haha: :haha: :haha:

I like my job. It's like being in a treehouse with a bunch of your buddys for 24 hours... as long as we don't get ourselves in trouble, it's all good. :thumb:

If we do work, we get to ride on a big shiney red fire truck that has flashing lights and makes loud noises... and go to a fire a wreck or something.. and, we get to break things.

But, sometimes "others" in charge sort of give us that feeling that you used to get when your mom called you in while you were having fun.. but, for the most part it's great. I really never have met anyone who wanted leave the fire dept, unless it was for some really serious money.

Well that explains your avatar, I thought maybe you just liked Beaver. :smirk:

As for my job, it blows. I do enjoy what I do but I really am getting f***ing sick of the politics in my job. If you are a f*** up and come to work late, call in with the most stupidest reasons you get promoted. But if you work you butt off get to work on time, if not early, don’t call in sick a lot you get screwed. I am trying my damndest to get a different job but nothing seams to be panning out. Then again I do really enjoy working with the crews out in the field. Working for the state sucks in a whole though.

I hate my job and I own the f*cking place, how sad is that.

The only "professions" that I would enjoy is "professional f*cker around with of guns", "professional f*cker around with of 4x4's" or professional f*cker around with of boats", but it would have to be a "f*cker around with" position, anything else would just be work.

I quit a job that was driving me crazy to make less money and have a job that I love. If I ever start to hate this one, I'm gone again. Life is too damn short.
