ours just started up here, i was on one today about 2000 acres big, about 7 or 8 miles away from my house, hit the creek, and i was pumpin water out of the creek and wind was blowin about 50-60 mph, and i was in the creek, trees fallin all over, hollowed out and flames comin out of em when they bust in half, pretty fun, i dont think im gonna get much sleep tonight...

I feel for y'all. I lived up there in the Black Hills of western South Dakota and every summer there was fires. Pretty scarry at times. I don't have too worry about forest fires here in Omaha, Ne.

We had a small one here in Illinois. Some douche bag tossed there cancer stick (cigarette) out the window and caught a wheat field on fire.

we think that this one was caused by lightning due to it being in the middle of nowhere, no roads or anything.

Had lots of them around here so far. There out now.The ones around town have burned around 80,000 acrs or so.But didn't burn any houses. Around here we have 3 seasons Wet season, dry season and fire season. Just wating for the next thunder storm to start a bunch more.

    None here!...

Wildfires are about the ONLY thing we HAVEN'T had here yet!...had every other natural disaster though...it was a severe drought here earlier this year, and we had a few big brush fires, but after April its been rain,rain,rain...we have had 25" of rain here since May,lots of floods, and property damage..

I think I could dump 5 gallons of gas in the woods and light it,and nothing but the gas would burn, everything is so soggy!...:doah:

The next 4 days are supposed to be sunny, dry, and HOT--temps over 90!!--so we might "dry out" a bit...but I doubt fires will be a problem here..Mold,Mildew,and flooded basements are a BIG problem here now..

Astoundingly enough we have acutally had rain with most of our thunder storms so we haven't had many up here yet. Of course our fire season really doesn't get going till about august

It's been fairly calm over here in NC, but I did get called to see if I was available to go west. They haven't sent our district yet, but I'm waiting....
