Anyone ever redrilled & tapped the nuts on the top?

OK so I was cursed with a double wall top and single wall tops seem to be kinda hard to come by in the middle of nowhere. problem is the bolts were all rusted and in bad shape when I took them out and no one seems to have the "correct" bolt that goes back in. So what I"m thinking is brace the top and flip it over in the garage and redrill all the holes for some size a little bigger than what it used to be? any thoughts?

Sell that top and rear HATCH, buy a soft top. Hard tops suck!

yea but with a family cage soft tops won't retract, just have to take it off as well and then I risk damaging a vinyl top vs a heavy fiberglass top
only advantage is storage space when the top is off and I"m out $600 this is free and I know you can relate to free
