I really want to go, but my football schedule will most likely interfere with the timing of the trip. I am not sure my coaches would understand missing two-a-days to go fourwheeling. I'll know more as the time nears though.

    Dan,

I will be attending this year. Joey and I will either be towing up or driving up. More than likely we will be towing up.

I have some ideas, tell me what you guys think......

    1. We should develop a contingency plan, in case someone breaks down during the trip, on how we can take care of them.

    2. Get a list together of who's bringing what spare parts.. for an example: 10 of us bringing fuel pumps and no one has a spare 12 bolt rear axle.... DOH![IMG]

    3. Get together a few times before the trip, and discuss plans.

    Just some thoughts......

When is this trip? Nevermind I see when it is and I may be able to make it, but that's a long time away. I want to go! Moab's not that far, and I may just have an extra seat for someone that wants to chip in on gas and expenses. Gotta see if my rig makes it through the summer without any major problems.

I had a lead on one, but it fell through so I am looking for another one. I am putting the dana 60 that I have in the burb so I can slow down the burb and trailer for when I head to MOAB. I would rather break on the trail then no be able to stop through the hills :)

Don't worry, we can always get Rob(therobzilla) to vacuum seal everything in individual baggies to save room.[IMG] Had to do it. Couldn't resist. [IMG]

I would love to go... only forseeable problem would be if my 350 craps out before then, I'll need a D60, and TH400/205 to support the 454 `replacement engine' I have. I'll be taking my K20 suburban, possibly the C20 sub as a tow vehicle to save on Fueling costs, if I can get a trailer to haul with that has onboard brakes... ( I am not hauling 3 tons without trailer brakes) eitherway, I'll have room for anyone who wants/needs a lift. might even be able to tow someone up ( I'll have to install an electric brake setup in the k20 to do that, and your trailer will have to have brakes) at the least, I'll be able to haul all sortsa parts/food/etc up without a problem.

what kind of trail is Moab? I've got exactly Zero experience with that area, and would like to know what kind of buildup I should be looking for to make that trip. if you don't want to clutter up this post, send me a PM with general info on the area...

    thankyou,
    -Rich

Moab is mostly slickrock.... Great traction! It's common to "bark" your tires during climbs as the traction is so abundant. All radial tires work well. Low gears and lockers are a must! Little bit of sand here and there, but mostly sandstone climbs and really scenic!
