I was wondering how the weld-in cage kit fit. I did a search but didn't find anything. I already have a smittybilt rollbar so I want to add the front kit and some other bars in there for a good soild cage, and then down the road I will tie it all into the frame. I know kpanza's truck has one and from the looks of this pic, the cage fits pretty good.

I am looking to get one, and was wondering about any info on them also. What is the cost for the kit? Can you do it yourself in a reasonable amout of time (weekend)? Thanks

I don't know specifics but I've heard good things if that helps. The point of my response is that anyone considering this needs to look carefully at shipping costs. I was looking at a S&W cage to use as the base for my rig. But with the cost of the cage+shipping+I wanted to add some, it came out about the same $$$ for me to buy the steel, notcher and bender. Now I can do the cage and more...

I priced the kit through Auto Accessory.com and it's a $99.95 plus $9 shipping but I'm not sure if it's considered an 'oversize item' which is an additional $10 shipping charge.

Wow. I shold look around a little more. I got a quote from a local place for like $350 for the main cage and like $250 for the front add on. /forums/images/icons/shocked.gif This was the reason I decided not to go with the Smittybuilt one. I guess I will look around a little more.

I just asked Keith (kpanza)about the kit the other day, don't forget that he can prob get a 15% discount for you, cause he works at autoaccesory.com, BUT Smittybilt is out of stock for the next month, and the only one he could find was several states away and would have cost me double to get it truck freighted to me, or i could wait 4 weeks and will call it at smittybilt, ya im waiting. Drop him a line if you want to order one, but it might be awhile before smittybuilt can ship it.

It'll probably take me that long to get the cash anyway... /forums/images/icons/smirk.gif
