I took off the first housing fine but when I took off the main body cover a spring flew out along with a cap type thing and a small bearing with 2 washer things. And is the bottom of the chain supposed to be loose and the top tight?? Can someone help me out here???
Here are some pics of what I am talking about

The thrust bearing and the 2 washers should be off the front output shaft. The spring and cap slide over the bar the shifter forks are on.

Pauly383K10 should have an exploded view if you need it.

as far as the chain goes, gravity makes the chain the way it is. because the output shaft is not supported with the beaing in the tail shaft, the output shaft is being pull over with the weight of the chain causeing it to be loose.

i always pull the fill plug when its fully assembled and push the chain with my finger to check it.

you can hold a few links between your hands and pull on it and compress and see how much the pins move. you shouldn't have any noticable movement in a perfect chain

So does the cap slide on the bar first or the spring?? and does the spring go down inside the cap or sit on top of it??

The spring then the cap. The thrust bearing sandwaches between the 2 washers.
