Anyone here have a powerball or any
of the cheap knockoff copy cat hand gyros? I have a Therabee and a
Theragrip, both from my Wife's PT Practice, which only hit a max speed
of about 8000RPM, which while fun, is not really challenging me
anymore. I guess I'm asking if the $38.00 plus shipping to get
the Techno on e-Bay is worth my money, or if I should go with a less
expensive - say 13,000RPM - ball instead. The Techno is capable
of reaching speeds of over 15,000RPM and has a digital speedometer that
flashes around the edge of the ball like those LED bar signs.
There are other Powerball models that are just as fast, and have LCD
screens on the top for a speedometer, or no speedometer at all, and of
course cost less than the Techno.

I guess I'm just looking for a bit of pushing in the direction I already see myself going in... a little "shove" if you will.

Reviews on these Powerballs and other hand gyro products would be cool
too... of course, every company says there's is the best and fastest,
but only Powerball has actually proved anything with a Guiness Record.

I gots two of 'em! It took me forever to learn to do them both at the same time. I love to get one going and hand it to my 16 month old son. He loves those things!

You have Powerball brand ones or something else? How fast can you get the things spinning?

I don't think they are powerball. I've had them a couple of years now, and they don't have an odometer. I might have to get some new pnes, because I think the odometer is awesome.

I would estimate 11,000 or so. Right hand is definately faster.

I want the Powerball Metal... but I can't justify spending $130.00 plus shipping for a steel gyro with a chrome finish... even if it is like spinning a 5 pound sledge hammer at 5000RPM.

Here is the metal one... it's sick...

Dang, I'd love to try that, but that is just too much money. I wonder what ebay has to say about all of this...

E-bay has ONE Metal listed, for $120 plus shipping... they also have a crapload of the Techno and Neons for sale for less than the website with shipping.

Why spend so much money just to experience gyroscopic precession?

What's really fun is seeing a "gyro walk." I had a standby ADI (20k RPM gyro) nearly launch itself down the interior of an aircraft when the gimballs locked up :(

They are not really for the experience, they are supposed to be a workout tool. They just happen to be awesome.
