We are looking at one to replace the Expedition. Any known problems?

When I sold auto parts, biggest problem I ever saw was the short circuit problem in the tail lights but there was a recall so that should be fixed by now.

They have an inline 6 and a V8. The 5 cyl is only in the Colorado.

The very early 4.2 I6's (2000 model years) would drop the cylinder liner from cylinder #5. Gm changed the way they machined or used better parts and fixed the problem real early.

My wife has an 06 trailblazer ext and I love it. Does better on fuel mileage than my pa-in-laws 99 expedition. Plus it rides better. and has more room.

    Feels heavy and underpowered.

Imagine trying to drive a K5 with a tired 305 in it....

My wife takes care of 3 or 4 of them regularly at her wash & detail shop.. from what she tells me, the ( female) owners are happy with them day to day.. big enough to haul the kids & stuff around, but overall easy to drive and park.

They haven't required any major service, and at least 2 of the ones she deals with are a few years old and have some miles on them..

Thanks guys. It is for my wife, so being a little underpowered is not necessarily an issue. Looks and sounds like a good kid hauler/grocery getter.
