the fine city I work in (heavy sarcasm) has installed a series of WiFi antanea around the city to provide people with free internet (if you are willing to see some lame ads at the top of the screen!). Supposedly if you are within 300 ft of these things, you can get a signal. Thing is, my office is inside (though its less than 100' away from the antanea). From everything I have read, if you want to use the WiFi inside, you need a signal booster of some kind.

Anyone have one of these? If so, does it work? Brand? Cost? I just want free internet that the ****in' puter nerds at work can't spy on. ;) :thumb:

In the spirit of Amatuer radio , there are guys online homebrewing WiFi antennas out of USB wifi adapters .

Make your own high gain antenna and get all the internet you want :waytogo:
