Does anyone know how to monitor 800mhz trunking systems? There is an agency around here that has that system and it's digital too. Is there anyway to monitor that?

I found mine online too, I used to listen to it all of the time. Its funny to listen to the cops crack jokes sometimes. When they explain what they are seeing is quite intersting.

You can buy scanners that can listen into the trunking systems. I bought my wife a small handheld scanner for Xmas that has this capability. It was a couple of hundred bucks though.

Got my handheld programmable one from Radio Shack, and got the codes for my area from a fire chief, also picked up a page of codes for B.C. Canada from a cop when I was visiting up there..just 20 min drive from me.

I have any 800mhz scanner, but I don't think it will pick them up because this department uses a digital system, so I was told. Anyway, where did you get your scanner that will pick up trunked frequences?

You have an old 800mhz. ???? Do you know it can be easily modified to liston in on cell phone conversations ?? Most tecs that work on 2 way radio equipment can do it. It's one of those thing that doesn't get adverticed.

Yea, it's the older 800mhz scanner and I can here cell phones. It's the one that radio shack had to mark down and get rid of just for that reason.

In colorado we are using a 900 mhz system. Scanners are obsolete for the most part with this system. You can hear the dispatch but not the mobile units.
