    Seriously.. Pro's? Cons?

I just like the idea because it would be closer to home when I move in July. Plus my girl makes all the money.. :p:

Driving to Portland takes about 40 mins one way..This job is about 5-10 mins away.

Summer job for 3 years. Sucks balls, would never ever do it again unless I was desperate for cash.

Well, I guess it depends a lot on the place you're employed. I did it in a school for a summer program so the kids ****ed things up on purpose. I suppose if you were in an actual professional place of employment things would be a lot better.

    Still, never again.

Worked as one at a Toy R Us right after high school and while going to college. Never had more poontang at one job than there!! Both the girlies my age and the older ones.

It served its' purpose at the time, had fringe benefits (lots of women).

i prefer the term "professinal cleaner"

or "mastered in the costodial arts"

I have, right after high school I knew a lady who was a manager of an obgyn, there cleaner got cough doing some non work activities..she asked me to try it, since I had already helped another cleaning business owner off and on when he needed it I already knew the ropes. after 30 days, a she signed a written contract for one year, and the following year renewed it. i later picked up other contracts in the same complex . thing such as floor waxing and carpet cleaning i did a time or two and later just subcontracted it and still made money on the deal.

money was fantastic, supplies were cheap, start up was under a grand and it is easy scheduled consistant work.problem was the time, i had from 5pm to 8am to do it, but i wanted my nights for fun/girlfriend or trucks so i cant say i slept good the 2.5 years i was in the business. its easy work, but an empty office is not much for conversation:crazy: the hours did allow me to have free days for some school clases and every bit of the day i could wrench if i wanted while others had to do it on the weekend or afternoons and nights. i have looked into getting a couple contracts again but hiring someone else to do the work, i dont have an interest in it labor wise anymore and my current business keeps me happy in terms of being busy.

    pro's..

no one around to bug you
    easy work
days are free for your projects

    cons..
its a looked down on job if you are workin for the man
    low pay most cases
not much room to move up in the world
if you are self employed like I was I could never leave town.

i could see it working for you if you got into it,learned the business, and if you can do it with a smile, set out to get some work, even if is just a couple small jobs, that are once or twice a week, give it some effort and watch it grow. getting a licence and tradename are the easy part.
