I'm still trying to get my motor running correctly, and I figure, even though I've tried 2 carbs, maybe I lucked out and both were messed up. Would anyone be willing to help me rebuild my edelbrock performer? I've got the kit, I just have never torn into a carb.
I've tried to get people to help me, but haven't had very much luck, just figured I throw a post up in the local forum.
    thanks,
    James

Might want to try a stock quadrajet. The edlebrock isn't a very good off road carb.

Jonathon, I live in Talbot County GA. Its right in between columbus and macon. Are you going to be down this way anytime soon? Are you good at diagnosing engines?
    Thanks

well, I've tried a q jet on it, and now I rebuilt my edelbrock performer 600 cfm. I've messed with timing and trying different HEI dizzies I had. I'm starting to think maybe I don't know what I'm doing. I probably need some extra help from an expert with adjusting the valves and tuning the carb. I just don't have enough experience to accurately troubleshoot. If I don't have the problem pinned down in a week, I'm gonna go get robben by a mechanic :eek1: . So if anyone is near and can help... that would be beyond awsome... cause I really can't stand the mechanics around here..

I'm pretty close to Eufaula. What is your truck doing? If need be, you can e-mail at jbrown@boydbros.com.
