i need some help getting rid of some weed, it's called purple nutsedge. from what i've been reading it's a PITA to kill. anyone have any solutions other than diging it all up.

I've read that imazapic (sold under Plataeu and Cadre) might do the job, any input on this killer??

When I lived in Omaha, I ran a lawncare company. Try ORTHO. ORTHO works alot better then Round-up.

Manage is a selective herbicide for postemergence control of sedges in established lawns, ornamental turfgrass, and as a directed spray around established woody ornamentals. Manage may be applied on commercial and residential turf and other non-crop sites including airports, cemeteries, golf courses, landscaped areas, public recreation areas, residential property, roadsides, school grounds, sod farms, sports fields, and other similar areas.

I work with a family friend doing lawn care during the summer. He uses Lesco products. For killing individual weeds in a bed or something we use Prosecutor. If the whole yard has weeds throughout we use a broadleaf control called Momentum. /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif Check out Lesco, theyre great.

Try something called Image...suppose to be great stuff. Says "Kills Nutsedge" right on the front. I scoured all over for it and eventually found the last bottle on the shelf a local nursery. Home Depot and Lowe's didn't have it. Actually, Lowe's did have it but the guy told me they sold out of it in 2 days.

Growing dope is not considered lawncare. In fact in most places, it's considered a felony........... /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

i've tried ortho, didn't work. Manage, Image, and imazapic based products are not sold or even shiped to CA /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif
Lesco does carry these products, i guess i'll have to move my lawn to AZ, treat it and bring it back /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
