Well I broke my katana today (full tang my ass) but the blade held up admirably, and was sharp enough to cut a chunk out of my arm.

    ANYWAY

I want to lop of the blade at the start of it's full width and move the grip panels up farther to make an actually full tanged wakazashi

So does anyone know how to drive out the rivits in a knife handle? And where to get replacements? Maybe I could use threaded rod get it together and then add a wire wrap and maybe a clamp?

I think the rivits are brass

On a side note, got some cheap grey hair dye and some really cheap diet energy drink! Hooray for the crinly knots!

Why do you want gray hair dye?

How did you break the knife?

Hey I stopped playing Diablo II to come back and apologize Steve

Didn't mean to be harsh but I don't like people who can't respect a weapon. This blade will carve your guts out as good as any.

    Anyway back to Diablo II

RJ, I was just joking about that. I respect swords as much as I respect the people who can make such beautiful pieces of art. personally though, I perfer smaller knives such at stilloetos's (sp?) italian switchblades. But of course all this stuff is almost impossible to get here. Please accept my apology, I just meant that for a joke, and I didn't want to offend you. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

I'm thinking of buying a quality one from Cold Steel , the one's they used in that movie, but that's a lot of cash to drop

I love that they used an anime sequence in KBONE. The studio behind that has a unique style.

I prefer the medeval style, but none will surpass the katana for style and strength, I'm no expert, just like swords. I want to get a big two handed one not too ornate.maybe have FLESH HARROWER engraved on the flat of the blade in rune, old norse, my heritage. I've been thinking of making a chain mail suit of armor, I found a place to buy the links from and different designs to use. /forums/images/graemlins/waytogo.gif /forums/images/graemlins/thinking.gif

In high school we made knives, and to hold the two handle peices on the blade we had some thing that threaded together and were tightened with a screwdriver. It was kind of like a shoulder bolt through the handle. Once tightened, the heads of the screws were ground down flush with the handle.
