I don't have a clue. I need to move 2 different camper trailers, each about 90 miles. I will be using a 1/2 ton truck to pull them.

How much (approximately) do you think these would weigh?

Trailer 1: About 26' long, bumper mount, dual axle. It is about 30+ years old.

Trailer 2: 1994 model, about 36' long, bumper mount, dual axle (I think).

How much tounge weight do campers typically have?

    Any guesses?

probably looking at 10K easy. the ones we build at work are around 9K, and im going to guess the 26' isnt going to be near as light as what we build, and the 36'er is going to be heavier, just due to its added length.

Yikes, that sucks. I was hoping for around 6,000 or 7,000 pounds... my little truck will die with 10K behind it!

I may have a pic of the 26' camper, I'll have to dig out some old cd's.

Our old 21 footer weighed 4600 empty with 500-600 lbs tongue weight. The older trailers didn't use so much of the lighter weight materials as new ones do, but they also don't have slide outs and other stuff. I'd guess 7500 lbs empty for the 26 footer max, and probably 8-10K lbs for the larger one. Most trailers seem to run about 10% of their weight on the hitch.

My old 1979 21' TT weighed about 4600 lbs. dry.

My new 35' Terry(with a 12 foot slide) weighs at least 10K totally dry. I moved it around the property with my 1/2 ton, and it was a struggle. I wouldn't dare try to tow it on a public road with that truck.:yikes:

    Good luck....

I could handle 4,600 or 5,800 with no problem. 10K would be a bit much for me, though. I just realized I made a post without a picture in it... ummm, here we go... this is what I will be (attempting to) pulling them with. I still need to get it all put back together...
