anyone know if an np203 has provision for PTO?

is this possible. just think PTOs are super burly and don't require two batteries and a high output alt. also what about hydrolic winches?

Sure do. I have one in fact. Came off a plow truck and ran a pump for the blade controls. Nope it's not for sale.

You know you want my ultra beefy pto. Just think you could have the largest winch on any k5 that there ever was. There is a 6 bolt inspection cover. That is where the pto unit bolts to.

Ohhh I know you can buy them new but just don't know where. I lucked up and found mine in a Junkyard but they are not common. Might do a search on PTO's and see what you come up with. There was some questions throw about a while back and as I recal there was a link to a place that sold them.
I lucked up on mine. I Was walking through the building where they store engines and tranny's and they had a pile of 203's and the PTO caught my eye on one of them. It's only an engage or disengage model. I understand that there is one that reverses and that would be a better choice for a PTO winch. PTO winches unless you put it in revers cannot power out. Sometimes you want to reverse the winch but not the truck so the PTO that can do both is more what you want. Also there is some issue when trying to help the winch by spinning the tires you can easily over run the winch or over drive it. PTO sounds great but it does have draw back including the truck has to be running. Sometimes the times you need it most is on a hill that has stalled a carb and your up the creek then.
Now I have heard several things. One being that all NP products run the same PTO. Suposidly it will even fit a T19 used in for trucks and Jeeps. The I heard it has to be for said tranny or case...not sure what one is true.
I am thinking of driving a real compressor head off mine instead of using the A/C. The rotory Fridgidair that comes on our trucks just don't hold up well as a air compressor. Plus my system still has freon but the clutch is bad and some electrical problems. Hot down south and if I can fix it cheap I wouldn't mind having A/C [IMG]

I have all the hard parts to find. Just missing the control cable but they sell those at Pep Girls. It's just one peice and studs for the case. bolts on the inspection cover on the side of the case. Drive shafts they have at Northern and Tractor supply

Blue Beast, I have a NP203 PTO thats on my yard truck and it powers a 12,000lb Garwood winch thats mounted in the bed. You put your transfer in neutral and operate the fwd & rev with your transmission, I have a TH400 but a stick works the same way.I dont use the winch anymore and plan on removing it sometime this fall so I can cut down the frame to a Blazer wheelbase to make the turning radius better for snow plowing.Anyways I have a PTO unit that fits a NP203 transfer for sale if your interested, this wont fit on a NP205 because I tried that and the gear pitch was not the same.
