I have been trying google to find a place that has the CUCV trucks but not having any luck. If anyone knows of a place I can find surplus K30 truck in say the Mid-Atlantic area I would be grateful. Thanks

  4. Almost all CUCV's are of the 1/2 ton type. I see them every day and have never seen anything but.

Blazers are 1/2 ton. The pickup trucks are K30s.

Which Mechanicsburg is it, there are two on Mapquest. One is by Harrisburg which is about 100 miles away from me. The other is up by Pittsburg which is much further. Did they have any complete trucks?

Mechanicsburg is near Harrisburg, there is a map on the locations tab. Didn't see any trucks, unless you want a 6x6, there are lots of them - like 100's. The axles are in small lots of 2 to 4 for the most part. Look at the locations tab, then go to the mechanicsburg,pa location and click on show lots. There were several pages with just axles. It was hard to tell by the picture, but the description was for Chevy 5/4 ton cucv truck axles, these should be 14bolt ff rears.

Try sending my hubby a PM(Wayne). His buddy Rodger gets military trucks all the time at the auctions and at other places. He(Wayne) may be able to get in touch with his buddy and possibly find you what you are looking for.

Does your husband have a user name? Or if I sent the PM to you he would get it? I did find a site from Chris of Steel Soldiers which is www.joeyoung.com, he has 2 1/2 ton trucks but also gets CUCVs from time to time.

To whom it may concern, I read this post last night and found the sale info and picture of the so called 5/4 rear axles in Mechanicsburg. The pictures are 10bolt Blazer rears(3:08govloc) and not 14bolt FF with the good stuff, I looked up the part #s in my CUCV manuals and they are Blazer except for the first 3 lots of 5 that I could not match to any #s in the book. That number could be anything from the stated axle to an axle for a warehouse push cart!

My advice is dont bid blindly based on a pic on the web because the people running the show for the gov. now dont know crap about truck parts.

The safest way is to personally inspect the stuff before placing a bid on a binding contract, at least call and verify that the pictures/disc/#s are correct.

Don't be fooled by the unit being in a crate. Old units are often put back into the crate the new unit came from. Check the condition code in the right hand column. Many say H7 which means not repairable or too expensive to attempt. Good luck.
