Had quite the forest fire there a couple years back. If I remember right it was started by a woman forest ranger, who was eventually prosecuted /forums/images/graemlins/weld.gif

Ya got your stories confused... /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

The Hayman Fire, west of Colorado Springs, was started by a US Forest Service employee. She's in the slammer now. That fire burned something like 137,000 acres of land. It also closed a LOT of the forest, including some great 4WD trails. /forums/images/graemlins/angryfire.gif

I think the Los Alamos fire was started by the Forest Service however. As I recall, they were doing a controlled burn and the wind kicked up and it got out of control. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif
