I usually stick with guitars, but i have a bunch of friends who play bass and I can do a few things,...kinda, lol. anyways, as far as getting music, there are tons of tab sites on the internet:
    http://www.basstabarchive.com
    http://www.mxtabs.net
    http://www.harmony-central.com/Bass
    http://www.cyberfretbass.com
    http://www.basstabarchive.com/index
or just type in "free bass tabs", pick a site, song, and artist and your all set. For deciding between the 4 or the 5 string, I think that while the 5 string definetly gives you more variety, it will also be harder to learn than a 4 string, as the neck is wider. i know when i got my 7 string guitar after 9 years of playing 6 string, it took a week or two to figure it out. simple things can be confusing.
sorry to make this such a long post, but i get all excited when i hear people talk about things with strings. just wondering, what kind of bass are you considering? (fender Pbass, Jazzbass, Peavey, Ibanez, B.C.Rich...?)
ok, well, now im done, good luck picking out the right one, later -pete /forums/images/graemlins/k5.gif /forums/images/graemlins/truck.gif /forums/images/graemlins/usaflag.gif

sorry, didnt see your link "my bass". Fender Squier guitars/basses are great instruments to learn on, their cheap, reliable, good customer support, and have a nice sound. i got a squier about 3 years ago and it still sounds good. ok, now im really done rambling, nice bass

I used to play bass a lot. Haven't played but once in about 3 years. I recorded a set for a regae band once and got to meet Ziggy Marley. That was pretty cool. /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif
