I haven't had a small front differential apart but I repaired the front differential on my '95 half ton, I think they are similar in design. Which side axle bearing needs replaced? I think the axle stub shaft can be removed and the seal and bearing are pressed in the end of the axle housing, they can be pulled out and replaced without removing the differential. You may have to completely remove the axle shaft to gain access to the inner axle stub shaft though.
