Anyone run 35\'s With NO Lift!?

I have a set of BFG's that are 35's and need to know if anyone has trimmed (hacked!) the fenders to make them fit? I have the tires, axles, and conversion 8 lug front. Will just need the 8 lug 15x10 rims and a way to put them on. I will be buying the lift later and have rusted out fenders so don't care how much since I'll be replacing them later.

    Thanks, Shane

    Ran some 35" D/T on 15x8 rims for a day.....turned them "gingerly" since I hadn't trimmed the fenders on my stock '75 ! /forums/images/icons/wink.gif

I ran wore out 36x12.50 TSL/SX's on my '79 k10 with no lift. I had them on 7" wide factory suburban bullethole wheels. The fenders were cut in the front and beaten back at the rear. The rear tires rubbed the wheelwells when it flexed good. To use 15" wheels with your 8lug, you need lots of offset (2-3" backspacing). The offset of your wheels will affect fitment.

It is a suggestion to use 2 1/2" backspacing. If you had a D60 it would be a necessity.

OKAY!! Second question! Can you remove the rear tubs or inner fenders? I know that I can do this with the fronts to allow more metal to be removed but the rear has the inners too right?

    Thanks, Shane

Yes, you can remove the rear "inner fenders". I can't imagine you needing to remove the front or rear, though. Put your tires on and cut a little at a time until they fit.
