I am running two electric pumps, one on a 468, and the other on a 455. CSI's pumps are great I have one and love it, make sure you wire it correctly, use the proper gauge wire, can tell you how many I have seen burn up. The great thing about CSI is the removable center, makes adjusting the cam easy, and they flow great, I acctually had alot better cooling on the strip with the electric than any regular water pump. I also have a MEZIERE and its a very good pump doesn't flow quite as much but it draws alot less amps. Lets see pros gained power, better weight , removable center sections, equal cooling if not better, oh yeah no more broken water pump snouts.

Cons price, amp draw, did I say price
That all I can think of. hope this helps Jesse /forums/images/icons/smile.gif

The ones that I've seen are intended for the drag strip, where they don't have to run very long. It would take a pretty stout electric motor to keep the water pump spinning continuously on long road trips. /forums/images/icons/frown.gif

Supposedly, according to the CSI website, their electric water pumps are tested for 5,500 continuous hours of operation...
I've seen a few guys around here with 'em on their daily driven street/ strip cars and haven't had any trouble with the pump yet.

    Anyone else have oppinions?

I have been considering an electric pump. My thinking is that when I am parked I can have the pump runnig and the fan pn and I can cool the motor down at a stand still with the motor not on.

If this makes you feel better I drove my 468 equipped 70 montecarlo from western KY to San Diego CA, and back with no overheating, my car has 4.11 gears I was turning 2900rpm most of the way. I have never had the car over heat even on the freeway at traffic jams that have lasted upwards to 2 hours and I had A/C in the car. So I would guess it would work well for someone who plans on street driving. Jesse
