i just got an email from a friend and it's of a SEAL Sniper with a .50 cal picking off these Taliban troops trying to hide in the mountains. shots are at 2500 yds (says the caption). i was curious because of what happens to the bodies when they're shot, the first one launches into the air several feet off a flat rock, and all of them seem to explode in some way shape or form. it makes me wonder due the the way everything explodes. so have you seen it?? tell me how to put it on here and ill do it if you wanna see..

Might want to put it in the pig pen or put a big warning up on it though.

Well people or not they weren't shot at 2500 yards. IIRC the longest recorded shot ever was 2250 yards by a Marine sniper in Vietnam Carlos Hathcock. I heard there has been a new record, but I don't know. Whats impressive is Hathcock's shot wasn't made with a sniper rifle, but a 50 cal machine gun and a 60's era scope.

Read Marine Sniper. It's a biography of Hathcock, and it's well worth the read.

The vid is bogus. Don't know what they are doing, but humans/animals don't explode like that when being shot with a standard bullet. That's Hollywood.

This is off topic, but along the same lines.

I was watching a hunting show last night on the satellite. There was a commercial for an arrow broad head called the Gobbler Guillotine. I watched with amazement with how this broad head works.

Anyway, I found a video today showing the action. Scroll down to the end of the page and enjoy.
