Anyone who has done a full convertable conversion

    My bday is coming up, and i kept thinking i want a soft top, soft top, soft top....but then i thot...mabye i could get someone to help me to the conversion to fully convertable...

    can it be dun for about 5-600$? parts and everything, paint?

    Weatherstripping - $450
    Hard top in good condition - mine was $300
    Windshield frame - $100
    Cost for body shop to do conversion - $500

    If you don't want to use a hard top you can do it for just the cost of a soft top. If you want to be able to use a hard top you would have to graft in sections form a full topper and buy a top as well. You could just chop off the top, use a soft top for now, and do the grafting later if you want as well.

    Don't forget renforcing the body w/ a subfloor, rocker boxes, or a cage.

    Lara (muddin4fun) had hers made like this... but she apparently has fallen into the great unknown, so I dunno if she'll answer anytime soon...
