    Anyone with 3.73\'s and 33\'s....

My uncle is about to get another 12 bolt for his '72 Blazer with 3.73's. He wants to make sure that 33's and 3.73's is a good combo and still having good rpm's on the highway. It has a TH350 and small block 350 pretty much stock. Right now he has 3.08's and when he pulls his aluminum boat packed down with camping gear, it takes a bit to get going. Any input is appreciated. Oh and I did check the 'calculators' but they only figure for a tranny with overdrive, I dont know if the 3rd gear in a tranny with overdrive is the same as a TH350?

I have that combo. I went from 3.07's to 3.73's and 33's,and like it. Never had a problem on the highway (I have overdrive 700R4)

I run 33's and 3.73's with a 700r4 . I can haul a big car trailer with three quads at 75 mph no sweat.

That should be good...4.11's would be good for getting going, but 3.73's would be better on the highway, even with overdrive. I have 3.42's in mine right now, and am sort of looking for another rear end...kinda leaning towards 3.73 now instead of 4.11 for the highways.

85 with a 350 and 700R4 - 3.73's and 33's, runs great on the highway, and will pull the wheels off of a 18' Ranger bass boat.

My '90 with 33's and 3:73's is turning about 1800-1900 rpm at 65 MPH, It is okay like this, but in OD its not quick to pass. You will be fine with your 3 speed and this combo

83 Blazer, 305( 186,000 miles and tired), 700r and 33 inch tires and recently changed over to 3.73's.. I'm very happy with it so far... very good middle-of-the-road combo...
Plus my truck doesn't struggle to get up to speed anymore.. [IMG]

Well it sounds like we're on the right track then. I guess we'll go with the 3.73's then, sounds like he should be alright even with his 3sp auto. Thanks for all of the input!
