We have lots of new names on the Board . To welcome some , as I was welcomed , lets go wheeling

I am going to sleep over Saturday the 14th , and go wheeling Sunday morning the 15th .

The trail will be Upper Woodpecker . Easy enough for open trucks , hard enough on a few optional obstacles for the experienced . Some spare parts , and a winch are preffered , but at least have a strap AND A MANDATORY PLACE TO HOOK THE STRAP I.E TOW HOOKS OR SHACKLE MOUNTS , spare tire , and jack . We wont strand anyone out there , but some stuff is a no brainer , like the tow points <---- Read this

We meet at 8 to 9 am on Cottonwood canyon Rd . South of US60 on the 77 or 79 I get those two numbers confused , just turn right off the 60 at the florence sign and go south to Cottonwood Canyon Rd. Wheeling starts at 930am .

I expect everyone to go the regional info thread and get your State Trust Land permit . We cross State land to get to the trails . And the permit is cheap considering what we all have tied up in our trucks :deal:

Will the Interagency Passport Annual Pass work for this trip?
    http://www.fs.fed.us/r3/tonto/tp/pass-options.shtml

I'm picking one up this weekend and was just wondering. I guess I could ask the rangers at the station too. I have to find Myself a spare before I can go wheeling. I should be able to pick one up before the 15th though.

FRONT AND REAR TOW HOOKS OR A PLACE TO HOOK A STRAP SHOULD BE MANDATORY!!!! There have been too many trips lately where vehicles have NO place to hook a strap and it causes much difficulty and potential danger when unsticking a stuck truck.

Is it possible that this might turn into a meet-n-greet? Maybe go bar-b-que somewhere after?

Dont think ill be able to make it unless this is a no body damage trail... the truggy may or may not be ready (if i still have it) and the new blazer is too clean to get any scratches... Let me know if there is a chance of body damage on this trail paul.. nate

Would like to make it, not sure if my k-5 will be ready or not, Depends if i sell my 2wd Chevy in time, and there is no way i am taking to Suburban out. Aready bent the Trans & Torsion bar crossmembers on Crown King a few months ago. Not to mention i have to take the Fam to Disneyland the weekend after this trip. So if i can grab a seat i will be there.

If the k-5 situation is done i will break it in on the Newbie trip.
