My 86 Diesel Burb with 3.73s doesn't like cruising at 65+. What are the highest gears available for the 14sf?

I think 3.42 was the highest for a 14 sf, but I could be mistaken.

I'm seeing a possibility assuming you havent sold the K5....swap out the 700 for the 400, sell the k5 with the 400, and you have 3.73's and OD.

I would probably do that if the 700s could hold up, I fear with a diesel it wouldn't.

I have a 3.21 in the back of a 76 GMC 2wd. That is the lowest I have seen. Of course, before that, I thought 3.42 was the lowest. How about an aftermarket OD for your tranny?

Yes, 3.42 is the "laziest" gear for the 14SF.

I picked up a complete 14FF w/3.21 (only $150 /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif ) for my diesel Burb. Hopefully I'll have a chance to install it on Easter weekend.
