I have an sm 465 combo that I have no idea what the year is. I have not pulled my bunk 208 yet so I don't know what spline count it is. Does anyone know if they were the same, all years of production? thanks.

IT'S A 1 TON THING.... IF I HAVE TO EXPLAIN IT, YOU WOULDN'T UNDERSTAND!!!

  2. i think the ones that bolted to 208s had 32 spline. the old ones have 19.

I had asked Stephen about the 465 spline counts a while back and he said ALL 465's are 10 spline up to '84. In '85, on up, ALL had the 32 splines.

So, the split is between '84 and '85.

Maybe Stephen meant the 465/205 combo's. Don't know. I'm just passing what I was told.

I did read somewhere in a magazine the 465's were changed to 32 spline in '82.

I'm still trying to figure out what my '82 K30 465 spline count would be. It has the 205 behind it. My luck, its probably the 10 spline.

    Do you know?

I just sold a 465/208 adaptor to 1tonwillysands10 the other day. That adaptor was somewhere around 10" long.

My '82 K30 has the same adaptor that was used by the older trucks, like back to '77. Probably the 10 spline! [IMG]

I measured the 465/208 adaptor and it IS 8.25" long.

The 465/205 adaptor is in a different shed.

    So, my '82 465/205 is a 32 spline?

Oh yes, I'm still interested in it! I have a '77 465/205 with PERFECT splines on them and may want to use the 203 with those.
