are these two mountains the same?

    got an email today w/ these pics. are these mountains the same? supposedly these are both pics of mt. st. helens, but the white one looks too pointy to me. maybe it's because i live south of the mountain? can anyone from north of it verify that it is infact helens?

    There has been an eruption since the invention of film that may explain the "lack of pointedness". ;)

    Those are great pics of lenticular cloud formations by the way.

    hmmm. so those testicular clouds you're talking about were described as being above the mountain recently - thus post early 1980's. :wink1: i just cant see it as the same mountain.

    I cant recall exactly when, but dont forget the view changed quite a bit in 1980 I think. ( '79 maybe )?

    it was 80 and I don't think they are both pics of Helens but the top one could be from the bacl side???

    I don't think the first one is St. Helens. I've only seen a couple pictures pre-eruption, but I have a hunch. The bottom one definitely could be though.
