I havent heard anything in a while about this lately. Are we still doing at raw deal, or are we going somewhere else? Please let me know I really want to go and I am almost done with the Jimmy. Building the cage right now, and have to re gear the front. Rear is done (4.56s and a mini spool).

yessir, it's still on. I do have one thing to add though, we did another run up there today & I have to say it's alot rougher in the daylight than it was at night. At least 1 locker is required. Big trucks with open diffs will take way too long to drag (literally) through the trail. The first time I ran was at night & I didn't see just how rough the trail was. A friend of mine ran today with his 76 Chevy shortbed, & he's only welded in the front. We didn't have to pull him, but he had to work it to get through the trail, even taking a couple easy ways around stuff. 1 locker will do it, but open you'll pretty much have to turn around at the first obstacle.

I'll have a map & stuff when I post an update thread here shortly... we're heading out to the trail @ 9:30, so be there a little before then. It's exit 236 off of I-17, about 20 miles north of Phoenix, about 7 or 8 miles south of black canyon city.

AZBlazer, you run all the way through with l/s, or just the first half?
If I'm out & bored saturday, maybe I'll wander by.
As for the day of the run, I'm planning (hoping) on being up there by 8:30, not really sure why, but just so I'm there. My truck is at my buddies house out in Black Canyon City, so I will have to run up there & pick her up first.

We only ran Lower, from what I hear the Upper is not passable with the size of a full-size Blazer.
passable = will not pyhically fit, or if it will garrentee major body damage !
I may drive from Tucson, what happened to the late morning start time (10:00 AM) ?

I wish my rig were going to be ready in time, I've never been on Raw Deal. Anyone use a co-pilot? [IMG]

You're welcome to ride with me if you like, I could use a spotter. I'm sure there will be plenty of available seats for passengers on all the rigs that will be out there. Choose your poison[IMG]....

Ah, I see... I'll say upper would be a PITA with limited slips only, & I'm sure part of the group will probably only watch some of us run through upper... but if you don't think you can follow a Ford with a 127" wheelbase... [IMG] [IMG] [IMG]
Seriously though, I hear there's a rock on the final climb out that used to be a problem, but has since rolled a bit out of the way. The hardest part of upper is easy to drive to, & has plenty of parking/turn around area for anyone that don't wish to continue through it & just wants to drive up & spectate. The first part of upper is intimidating, but I went through with just a small scrape, barely enough to take some paint off, & the rear axle unlocked (I actually ran the whole trail with the rear unlocked) Of course this will be a judgement call for y'all when you get there.

here's also a pic of me in the hardest part of upper... as you can see it's kind of a tight fit, & the scrape was getting to the position where I am in this pic, but this is as hard as it gets...
