I think my neighbors hate me. I work on the trucks at all hours and have my gear a few feet into the street. I usually have the trucks parked on the street with the door open and the air compressor further out than the open door. If someone were parked across the street, traffic wouldn't be able to get through. Other big, obnoxious trucks and rednecks frequently visit and clog the court. Tools block the sidewalk, etc. They frown as they pass and probably think I'm a tweeker (I'm not). I guess I could be in watching TV, but I don't have one. Are you a nightmare 4X4 neighbor? Any junkers in the yard? Any unfinished body work?http://www.bigerik.coloradoK5.com.

Q. How can you tell a rich Kentuckian from a poor Kentuckian?
A. A rich Kentuckian has TWO junked trucks in his front yard.

What's a "treeker"? (no really - never heard that one)

A "tweeker" is someone who uses methamphetamines (crank/speed). I had a (I think) tweeker neighbor once who was working on his cars almost 24 hrs. a day. I swear, people would come by and visit all through the night (even up to like 6 AM) and they would smoke and be all awake and stuff. He would have a dozen or so visitors every night--it sure was nice havin' him around to borrow tools from, though. I'm not that extreme, and besides, mine are Chevy 4X4s! I think I'm a pretty good neighborhood watchdog. Any burglars would have to pass by the wrenchhead. I just read the tread lightly post--maybe I better wrench lightly, too. We should make a good impression.

I had a 74 3/4 ton truck once with 12" suspension and 3" body lift with 40" Mudders. I had it parked in my driveway and my neighbor had the balls to ask me one day if that was going to be it's permanant resting spot. I said it would be unless he wanted to buy it then it could live in his driveway ...... he didn't like that very much, but I don't care. He just didn't like looking at it all the time. I think he just had a case of truck envy.

Yes, I am! He he he.....My camo beast gets stared at constantly, but I don't care. My neighbor can go back inside. Heck drives a taxi and then has his and about 6 others that are always parked all over then place in front....as for my other neighbor he's too stoned from his indoor pot farm to notice if I am being a nightmare.....

Right now my wife's Cherokee is the scourge of the neighborhood - atleast until I find the $ to score a new engine. Speaking of the tweeker guy, did you ever notice that the guy on Brawny paper towels looks like the guy down the street (In every neighborhood) who's always working on the ½ primered Camaro?

My neighbors can suck it. I really don't care. Over the summer when the nights are cool is when I usually work. I have no problem firing up a sawzall at 2 am. I don't complain about my neighbors being drug dealers, and they don't complain about my redneck tendencies. Kind of an even trade I guess.

Well I live in a land of minivans and soccer mom SUV's...a townhouse. I happily break out the welder and grinders and do my rust repairs in the carport. I have my rear half donor tub standing up in the carport as well as various other parts I've somehow collected over the past year or so, in the backyard I've got my topper and 5 35" mudders, as well as a spare back seat and various window cranks and my sway bar.
I've also got a stack of complaint letters from the Strata council...[IMG]
The good part is I've also helped fix many of my neighbors cars and trucks...usually for nothing. This definitely goes a long way towards peace between everyone. I've lived here long enough now that everyone just expects to see some sort of carnage going on in our carport and they pretty well leave me alone.

I've got a 3-car garage but there's usually no room in it for vehicles. So the Suburban, the S-Jimmy and the K5 (which is butt ugly) all sit in the driveway nearly all the time. One of the neighbors asked my wife why we didn't park in the garage. She told 'em there's too much other stuff in there! [IMG] It's a pretty snooty neighborhood, big houses on big lots, with covenants and all. But in nearly 3 years, no one has complained about it!

If I know I'm going to make a lot of noise I'll try to do it inside the garage. But there was that time last spring when a buddy brought his rusted out CJ over. We spent an entire day in the driveway with electric grinders, air grinders, welding, etc. as we repaired all the rusted out spots in the floor. [IMG] 2 months later he sold the Jeep and bought a brand new F-150! Yech! [IMG]

Erik - thanks for the "education" on tweekers.

We're in the same situation as some others - we live in a "hoyty-toyty" 'hood where (almost) everyone drives beemers, benz's and lexus's (except me of course). I keep my "eyesore" behemoth in the driveway in the back so it's not so noticable from the street. When I do park it out front, Sarah keeps harping on me as to when I'm gonna "put the truck away" (i.e. - get it out of sight!!) BUT - who makes the first path down the street when it snows????? You guessed it - ME!

Actually the neighbors hate me because my cars and trucks are loud... but now they hate the punk kids down the street who have their rustbucket 82 olds doing burnouts all the time... so kinda off the hook, but the 3 neighbors down the other way hate me because their 17 yr old girls gawk at me non-stop when I'm out working on stuff LOL... "give it a year honey hahaaa"[IMG]. My main problem comes that I rent the second floor of a house... I pay 300/month for that because I do maintance around here and am going to be residing the house... no garage because they use the 2 bay for their cars but I use the sides for stuff... but I have now filled the side and the back shed w/ stuff and that part of the rent is 200/month LOL...I can use the garage to work in which is nice. For a while had my 88 Trans Am Drag car sitting in the side piece of driveway I poured... that was tubbed w/ slicks and cage... but blew the motor on a lean nitrous runs and melted the entire frt of the car [IMG]. So was ugly... then had my70 Z28 out from storage alot because was driving that during the summer... if that was in storage then the "rusty, but trusty" 6cyl EFI F@#d shortbox was out... Finally got all the good stuff of the TA and got rid of that and then sold the70 Z28 and got a 89 F@#d mustang gt and another Firebird that had a blown motor... LOL.... Can you say addicted... I'm such a Gear head LOL[IMG]

I just moved, but the where I use to live, I always got the cops called on me. There was this old lady living across the street, and she would call the cops and tell them I had loud music on or something simmilar. Most of the time, it wasn't even 9:00 yet, and she would stil get mad. Screw her!
