yea if the windows are stuck down ur screwed. you need to get them up somehow to get the motor out. Its also gonna be kindof hard to get hard to get in there if youve got big arms.

Closed I mean up position.. If they where in the middle it seems it would be easier to get the windows out..

I took mine out with it in the up position. It wasnt that hard. The hardest thing was getting at the right angle with my arms in the door.

I probley done mine the long way but I was also replacing the weather striping around the glass...

pull off door panel, roll window down 2-3inches, unbolt glass from gears, slide glass out, unbolt every bolt on the inside of the door, contort arm into Z shape and disconnect wiring from motor and locks, push harness aside, pull/fanaggel scizzor gear with motor attached out, drill rivets, replace motor (after testing it to make sure its all the way up or all the way down matching the position of the one you pulled out /forums/images/graemlins/waytogo.gif), install new pop rivets, yank old weather striping, replace and then follow directions backwards... If you dont want to pull the glass use some duct tape on the outside over the top and back to the inside to hold the glass up... unbolt glass, gears/motor, unhook wiring pull gears/motor out, drill & replace pop-rivets, reinstall..... /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

For the longest time I thought my window motor was dead too (it was really slow before that), turned out a couple wires broke on the inside of the power window conector on the back side of the door panel. Replaced the ends with some I scabbed from the JYard and even my power doorlocks started working again /forums/images/graemlins/thinking.gif

I needed to replace the rubbers so I done the motor too... now I just have to get around to doing the passengers side one of these days /forums/images/graemlins/thinking.gif (done the drivers side this past spring, maybe I will do the passengers side this spring /forums/images/graemlins/histerical.gif.... probly not unless it stops altogether /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif)

Seems like a read somewhere that the regualtor is under tension so you have to be careful not to let it snap closed (and potentially cut you) when you remove the motor. /forums/images/graemlins/thinking.gif
