I'm always interested in pinpointing the regional things in my own speech. I find the differences between regions quite interesting. Anyway, I say things like "its fast as hell" or "hot as hell" or "cold as hell", basically "as hell" is a very versatile thing I use. It "hurt like hell". Is this a regional thing or just a personal preference to a stupid nonsense phrase? I just noticed that there are a few people where I'm from that use the phrase as well, but they are my friends so that could be the reasoning there.

I'm from Eastern PA I'm just living here for the time being. I noted you live nearby. This area is pretty beautiful at times but so boring to me.

Some of the ones noted make sense, and as for going all boomhauer on things.... well it happens... I talk fast when I'm talking about cars or trucks. Mainly cause I know the person listening has no idea what I'm saying and there is no point is saying it slow, its just gonna insult them if I spell out each word ;)

I like to call things "horrorshow" instead of "cool", and never add the "ing" to"f__k"

I hear "as hell" or "like hell" used quite a bit in Cleveland. Do you say "youn's" ? My wife, who's from East Mckeesport PA never picked that up, but my cousins in Uniontown use it. She does however use the word " nebby", which is pittsburghese for " nosey" , when describing her stepmom.

I love PA, but man, the regional dialects.. and their sandwiches.. what's up with putting fries on the sandwiches?

never had a sanwich with fries on it. Met a lot of people that put potato chips on them though. PA is a big state. One of my teachers is born and bred in PA and he talks in a way I just don't get. Warsh instead of Wash is the biggest thing. There have been a few arguments in class about the proper name of a sandwich. Sandwich in question? Cheese Steak. WHat is the name according to me and anyone from near Philly? Cheese Steak, according to a bunch of others around the country, Steak and Cheese.

Yes, I was introduced to Primanti Bros, and we go there when we're visiting her mom and sister. And she does say gumbands.. You might find this gross, but I like to eat at Kings restaurant. I love the chili. Ever have ham barbecue?

I've seen the chips thing too. saying warsh is big in southwest PA, and I'm with you as far as cheesesteak sandwiches. that's their proper biblical name, dammit.
