Picked up a box of the Compound W stuff a while ago. Used it on two warts on my hand, and nothing happened. No pain, but a bit of soreness a day or two after. Then two weeks later, the skin turned white (after a shower, and another when doing dishes), and tore off. The wart was seriously diminished, but not quite gone. The package says repeat applications may be necessary.

I have 2 that keep coming back. I have cut them off and they bleed like a mofo. The come back after awhile though. I have also had the doctor freeze them with liquid nitrogen and they went away longer but still came back.

Knew a guy in one of those branches of the military... you know hush hush stuff. I know cause he NEVER EVER talked about it. One time he was gone for a couple weeks, when he came back he had a bunch of warts on his hands. All he could/would say is that "the water was nasty". He went into the doc and they froze off something like 30 or 40 of the little things.

I think that whereever he was, he was covered except for his hands and then whatever happened affected that part of his body. It was weird to see his hands with all these little warts on them. Then nasty when they were all white and dying, but then totally cool to watch them fall off.

I am glad it didn't happen to me. :D

When the doctor froze mine they turned black after a few days and look gross. I proceeded to rip them off because they looked nasty.

What I did for the ones on my hand:

Stuck the wired from a heavy gauge wire hanger in a blowtorch untill it was as hot as possible

Burned a perfect little circle as far down as I could stand over them

    Wrapped them up with bacitracin

    Took care of it

Whatever you do... dont pull it out with a pair of pliers. I had a planters wart on my foot that I yanked out, the roots were a good 3/4 of an inch and it bled for days.

I had about 30 or 40 on my toes when I was a kid, and my sister had them on her knees, maybe I was in bad man territory!

But as for pulling the "seeds" out, I pulled one of those things out of one on my pinky and it bled for HOURS, and I mean gushing if I didn't hold it.
I haven't had them in many years but I hate them now. My old girlfriend had a couple on her left hand and I couldn't hold that hand without getting the wheebegebies.

I have corderized (sp) both of mine after I cut them off to help stop the bleeding and to try and kill them a little deeper. I usually (I have done it several times) take a lighter and heat up a pointed metal object as hot as I can get it and smack it down on the bleeder and move it around. It is interesting listening to your own hissing sound.

Can you rip out all kinds of warts or only certain kinds. I might have to try ripping them out next time they get big enough.

well ive never had one, but does it not hurt like hell to rip a part of your flesh that runs 3/4" into your body off?? seems like there would be a lot of pain there. or are they not as 'attached' as everything else?? just wondering..

They make this prescription stuff that is like poison oak that you can put on them. A dermotologist will give it to you. Only thing that would work for my GF. Gives you a crazy bubbling blister, but after a week or 2, its all gone.

can always keep trimming them down with a razor blade... had one on my left hand, and i cut it back a couple times, then cut around it the last time, and not all the way to cut it out, it turned a dark brown like dried blood and i picked it out, no more since ... knocking on wood...

When I was in junior high I had one on right middle finger at the first joint (palm side).
I took a fingernail clipper and pulled the wart and its' root out leaving a hole!!

    It never came back.
