I don't know if I can burn a DVD or not? I bought a Dell and the Icon on the desktop says "Burn CDs and DVDs with Record Now". How do I tell if I can burn a DVD or not?

Step 1: Find out if you have a DVD burner.

I don't think I do... I've burned CDs on it just fine but in the software there is no place that it mentions DVD burning except for the icon on the desktop. I would have to call tech support at Dell to find out if this thing burns DVDs and I hate calling them. You spend forever on hold listening to bad music... I'm really pissed that I bought this piece of crap now. Wonder if I can send it back?

Hmmm, well this piece of crap cost me a little over $1200 and that was without a sound system or a monitor. I think it's got 528mb sdram, 2.6 gh processor, 70 gigs of HD and a CD burner and floppy drive. That's about it. Bunch O software that came with it I thought for free. Now one by one they are all turning off and saying I need to "Renew My Subscription" (give them more money) if I want to keep using them. I think that's a bunch O crap myself.

Let me see if I can give this thing back to Dell first. Then I may be giving you a call RJ.

I have a CD burning program on my computer, and it lets me make DVD's and whatnot. But it won't burn it because I just have the CD burner, no DVD! This is probably same case for you?
