I know. I know, I should have listened, but I figured 2 wheels, how can they screw up?? Plus they were paying the tax. First they were supposed to ship last monday the9th. About a 2 hour drive they should have been here by the 11th at the latest. Didnt get them til the 16th cause they didnmt ship til the 13th!!!!!!!!! Anyways that is not why I am posting. I run the shipping dept. at my work and I do all UPS stuff. I got the bill for the wheels. One pkg. at 55lbs. The bill said frieght was $35.00!!!!! I knew this was to high so I checked what ito would cost from my UPS system....$9.42!!! They tried to rip me for $25.00!!!! I called and was pissed. The guy told me."Oh well the guy that took the order must have thought that it was going across country and thought is would be expensive".( I thought that is why they take an ADDRESS, so they know where they are sending it) I said ARE YOU KIDDING ME??? YOU GUYS JUST GUESSED ON A SHIPPING PRICE??? WHAT KIND OF CRAP IS THAT?!?!?! He said we are sorry and we will credit you card. I am thinking now of callin back and talking to a manager but I doubt it will get anywhere. I'm sure they could care less. Just make sure that all of you that have ordred check the freight charge and make sure it sounds reasonable. I am lucky I have access to the UPS prices, so I caught it. I guess that is how they can pay the tax on everybodys oder during the weeks that income taxes are due, by just screwing people by overcharging for the freight. Sorry this got long, just wanted to let everyone know how they operate if you didnt all ready know. Mychal

Nope. The $25 extra was on top of a 5$ handling fee, so to ship one pkg about 2hours away was $40!!!!!

Anyone can go on http://wwwapps.ups.com/servlet/QCCServlet and check shipping prices from UPS. Fedex always seems to have the cheaper prices when shipping large items.

    Just my $.02

The shipping charges are not only made up on the spot, but they are different each time. Also, they try to charge me shipping when the part is out of stock and has to come from the warehouse (across town) to the local shop. Imagine if Kmart charged you shipping when you picked up something in the store. I can also get a lower shipping charge via their own website to ship directly to my house. To add to this, the prices on everything at the store are negotiable. They start way high and will come down if you tell them you can find elsewhere cheaper. You never know if you are getting ripped off. I hate that store and the ego-maniacs who work there ! Whooo. I feel better now. JT

I might deal with them here pretty soon, but I'm not ordering anything...if it's not instock where they can hand it to me over the counter, then I ain't giving them my money. No way!!! A friend of mine was trying to order a 12" lift (2K!) and no one would ever call him back about it. So he said f*ck you and went somewhere else and they gladly took is 2000 bucks for a lift and got it to him. They used to be good people to deal with, but not anymore, unless you're lucky.

You have to watch.. Alot of companies have their own UPS shipping prices. They will calculate your shipping costs by how much the item you bought totalled! So the more you buy, the more you pay in shipping!

Emmetology101 is actually right. That is how our company ships. It's not based on weight here it's based on price. You could buy something for $40 that weighs 3 lbs and it's more to ship than something that is $20 and weighs 6 lbs. However I get the feeling 4WP just charges shipping based on their mood swings.

I live in denison TX, and one of my cousins(who lives a mile away) was going to order a 6" lift for his f150(ford boys), anyway they were going to charge him like $140 something to ship it up here from the dallas store, which is only about 80 miles away!

A broken 84 k5 and lots of mud, it sucks to be me

With 4WPW you always have to pull the "OK, welll I am going to check a couple more sources and then I will get back to you" - And always the guy says "OK, for YOU today only I will give them to you for $56.00" or some other bull sht price" I think you can get the best price with them but don't plan on shipping anywhere and always haggle them down! later
