    Fellow Zonies,

It appears the State Trust Land Permits are gonna get sticky this year... For those of you who do not have one and plan to be out wheelin' w/ us this spring.... Get one...

    Here's the site.

    http://www.land.state.az.us/programs/natural/rec_offroad_permit.htm

You can call them @ 602-417-9300. I just got off the phone w/ a nice lady there, and she said she can mail out a form, then you send it back... etc....
or you can just go down there.

Don't wanna see anyone get slapped w/ any fines this year.:shame:

Is this required for both Florence and Table Mesa or just Florence?

The only time I am on these trails is with you guys , other times are near water and I have my license and poles with me .

Anyway , I would be willing to chip in my share if someone wants to go down and get a group permit for these AZ Ck5 member and amigo trips :)

To get the group permit, it has to be a legally existing body, with insurance. Basically, you can't get a group permit for just 20 guys that wheel together. Even calling it a club isn't enough, the club must be incorporated, and insured.

At least, thats the answer I got last year about this time.

I will probably need one. If you go to the office do you still have to use to apply or will they just sell you a permit? I can go down there tomorrow if they will sell me a permit, but if not I will just get an application from you. I don't feel like getting ticketed when I am four wheeling this weekend.

They will sell you the permit on the spot, and there are two parts to it. One part is a tag they want you to hang on the rearview mirror of your PARKED vehicle, and the other is a piece of paper you carry with you. Also they have an individual or a family permit. Family permits cover two adults and two children who live at the same address. So if you have 4 people in your vehicle, each one should have their own permit unless you paid for a family permit and their related to you. I have never been checked but I believe alot is up to the discretion to the officer checking you. i.e. I would think they would cut our Canadian friends some slack.:D

I just got my permit at the land office. It was $20 and took me all of 5 minutes and .25 cents in the parking meter to get. No lines, no hassle, no problem.

If you go to the land office on Adams St. Park on the back side on Monroe and 16th ave area.

:mad::mad::mad: How do they expect working stiffs to abide by their rules if they close before most normal people can get off work :mad::mad::mad:

I have my fishing license but that ain't going to work if there isn't any fish in the water there :(

They are the gov't man. They don't give a sh*t about the working stiff. They close when they want and you can't do squat about it. I took off work early to make sure I got down there in time and had time to get to the hardware store before they closed too.
