Gonna be 3 m1009s (blazer) and 1 m1008 (5/4 ton pk up dana 60 and 14 bolt). But I guess I'll get over it...

I've been watching surplus auctions for these things for 4 years. I found out about this one last week, and I'm so pissed I can't get there, know noone that can get there, and don't have the cash to get anything anyway. I called gsa last week for more info on this one and they never sent it. I was going to prod them again tomorrow and post here whatever I found.

The only things the auctions around here have are burnt out duece & 1/2's (which are still pretty cool, but no K5).

Good luck to anyone that can make it. Remember the pain of your fellow K5er's that can't....

Yes this sucks. I am only 1 hour away from this and my budget is so tight right now I had to give up my beer for the month.

Go figure, when things are available I have no cash.

I could get there in 45 minutes but, I'm broke and in debt.
But I'm broke for a good reason though --> (496!) I would be there in a heartbeat, if I had some cash.

Oh well.

Scott, do you know what the M1009's usually sell for? Looked like they all needed some work... Ahh, I probably can't get the day off from work on such short notice anyway.

A lot of the ones I see coming out of auctions have already been cannibalized by the military if possible, since there are still lots of units running these things. Last K5 I saw come out of an auction was missing the front axle, motor, transmission, tailgate, seats, etc.

If you check them out first, you'll know what you are getting obviously, but I wouldn't doubt it if things like axles are missing hubs, rotors, etc., if the axle is still attached.

Are these ones you guys have seen pictures of, or just saw the listing?

I've been to government auctions where totally optionless K5's have gone for $4500. People get crazy at these things.

However, I'm pretty sure, IF you get some kind of title for these things, that they are FEDERALLY (as in even CA couldn't touch you) emissions exempted. At least thats what the core support sticker says if I remember right.

Yeah thats what the sticker says there exempt. These trucks are missing parts its in the listing. Last auction I went to I got mine for 900 but it didnt have doors top motor trans tcase interior etc. But it did only have 32,000 miles on it and solid as a rock.
