The LH aut lock hub is making a grinding noise when it's engaged in 4WD on my 81 Blazer 4 x 4; I have pulled it and tore it down.

Mine randomly made a ratcheting noise and then they would pop and release. Never found anything wrong when I tore them down either... replaced them with warn manual hubs and never looked back.

Put Warn Premiums in a few weeks ago at the advice of the forum and they are great..... mine only made racheting noises a couple of times but would lock and unlock on a whim.

Lets just say from preliminary calculations I improved my gas mileage by .5MPG with this move.

Replaced mine with Warn's about 2 weeks ago. Waiting to find any MPG improvements, but even better is the peace of mind improvements. /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif
