Hey y'all. My 88 has automatic locking hubs, but I want to ditch them for manual's. Can I buy manual hubs and just install them? One shop tried to sell me a "conversion" kit, but I was a little skeptical.
There's a local place that has Warn premium's for $50 new-in box. I didn't ask them about a conversion kit, though.

you should be able to do it yourself unless you have full time 4wd

You can just get a set of hubs and replace them yourself. I've never heard of conversion kits for GM, only Ford.

<font color=purple> The conversion kit they're talking about is for transfer cases on full time rigs .......... you'll need that kit if you want to make it a part time unit.
