Breaking news on Fox right now, knocked a bunch of cars off Berthod Pass and they think some are still covered in the slide.:eek1:

I heard they called off the seach. They said they didn't think anyone else was in it.
I hope their right or it will be a cold slow death.
The wind has been blasting here all evening and it's supose to be below 0 tonight.
With the wind chill up here it should be somewhere between -10/-35F :eek1: .
I'll bet it will be days before they can clear it out and a week before they open the pass.
Glad I'll be in Florida next weekend :cool1:

They forecast wind down here in the valley but we've yet to hear it. I imagine the avalanche danger is high everywhere. They just found a gal up on Cameron pass, looks like she froze to death while cross country skiing.

That sucks. What a sad way to go.
Keep the snow gods away from the front range so I can fly out soon.
I've been dealing with frozen houses, no heat and all kinds of BS up here.
I swear it's Denver West now (nothing against Denver) but......
As my hands crack & bleed, I keep thinking of that boat I might own next week.
Makes all this work & cold a little easier to swallow.
I hope I don't end up with a ton of calls tonight or tomorrow.
It would suck to have to go out. Stay warm people.
    No freezing tonight please.

OK, I'm wrong. Looks like everyone that was driving up there when it happened,
got out of their cars & trucks and started digging before any rescue people
could even make it there to get the trapped ones found and out.
Also, a search & rescue team was doing training near by so they were there quickly.
As for the roads, CDOT kicked butt and had the hywy open by 7:00 PM last night. WOW!
A very Happy ending to what could have been very bad. :D
