axle gearing questions????

    do shops regear an axle if it is not under the truck? can i not just bring the axle only? any recommended shops? approx. cost?? anyone need a side job? thanks

    Yes you can just take the axles in. Some shops actually prefer it that way cause its easier.

    you might ask this question on the OBH mailing list... there was a guy there who would do it for $75 an axle if you brought the parts. I think he had an exhaust shop or something... he'd come in and do it on weekends? I dunno... it was a while ago and my memory is fading with age. lol!

    i took my old 10 bolt in to Holbrook Specialties in Gladstone.
    I just dropped it off and they had it done i think in a day or two.
    I believe it was $150 or $175 to get it done.
