axle shaft endplay

    anybody with a 12 bolt.how much endplay is the axle supposed to have at the end od the axle tube when you push it in and pull it back out?

    I can't feel any play with my 12 bolt. But according to Wes the 10 and 12 bolts can have as much as 1/4 inch.

    remember it isnt bolted in, it is held in by a c-clip, and it just rides in a groove, its normal, dont fret /forums/images/icons/laugh.gif /forums/images/icons/laugh.gif

    i have about a 1/4 inch of play.i thought maybe the center pin or center shaft that holds the carrier gears and c-clips might be worn out letting the axle slide that 1/4 inch.i just dont want to be going 60 down the highway and have a axle come loose from the housing
