Hey, I was wondering what a good strong axle would be for a DD/regulary used 4x4. I was thinking maybe Dana 44, but that may not be strong enough? help! /forums/images/graemlins/1zhelp.gif /forums/images/graemlins/1zhelp.gif /forums/images/graemlins/1zhelp.gif

Well it seems that Light duty wheeling 12 bolt & D44 are fine but for more aggressive wheeling go with 14 FF & D60!

14 bolt Semi Float axle is stout, you can even get in a 6 lug, which can be found in some Z71 pickups

I would say it all depends on the size of the tires you run. /forums/images/graemlins/deal.gif

A K30 is your best bet for those parts.

For 37s, 3/4 ton stuff should be ok though.

[/ QUOTE ] I've got 36's in the shed waiting to go on. I'm waiting too see if a K30 deal is going to go through or not. If it doesn't, I have some 3/4 ton axles up un a friend's garage. Kinda doubt a D44 will last very long, so I'm really hoping the D60 gods will smile on me.
