What axles were on a 1982 3/4 Ton Chevy 4x4? Just saw one for sale in the paper and was curious what axles it had...

    Was that a speed bump? No, just a Rice Rocket </font color=red> <a target="_blank" href=http://coloradok5.com/gallery/fortcollinsram>My 87 Blazer</a>

Should be a dana44 front and 14 bolt rear.

    I haven't failed, I've found 10,000 ways that don't work. www.rocko.rockcrawler.com

Well, my axles came from an '82 3/4 ton truck.

They are a 10 bolt 8 lug front/14 bolt semi floater rear. This is the first year for the 8 lug semi-floater.

8 lug semi-floater 14 bolt would be standard for a 3/4 ton that year. 10 bolt front. '81 was first year for the SF 14.

Since it's a Chevy, it will have the 10 bolt front. If it was a GMC, it would have the D44, as GMC switched over to a 10 bolt in '83.

The rear can be either the SF or the FF. I have seen the FF in 3/4 tons up to '82 and also the SF. In '83, the SF was the only axle in the 3/4 tons. No more FF's unless you stepped up to the 1 ton.

So, for '81 and '82, those years had many odd standard and option items for the line of trucks. These SF and FF rears were some of those "odd options". [IMG]
