Axles that came in an \'88 GMC 3500 4X4

Guys, have a line on a set of axles off an 88 GMC 3500.........$600 for the pair (don't know the gear ratio yet.........shall I assume they are Dana 60/14BFF combo? And probably 4.56's?

Think they will bolt in without moving the spring perches.?

    Merry Xmas to all............

I would assume D60/14FF. But you know what they say about assuming stuff, ass /u /me[IMG] I'd go look and bring the cash with me! Might be 4.10's though. Either way if the D60 is involved its a smokin' deal!

If it is a 1988 model it has IFS front suspension and a 14 bolt rear.

I thought the one tons, Crew cabs, K5's and Subs all retained the old body style until 91? Damn

Actually, if it is an '88 3500, then they are solid axles. The blazer, sub, and one ton pickups stayed solid until 1991. Only half an 3/4 pickups changed. My work truck is a '91 3500 with a D60, and a 14FF. Most people thought all the pickups changed, but thats only because there aren't many 3500's anyway. They have the same 4 headlights as the blazer's and sub's.

    If it's a K5 I have the answer.

Re: Axles that came in an \'88 GMC 3500 4X4 -UPDATE

Finally called the guy, knows Jack Schitt about this combo as far as gear ratio, locker, etc. but did confirm the front is an IFS. Also said the rear end was not a "floater", when pressed, he didn't really know what it was, but someone told him it wasn't a Full Floater, just a Semi Floater.

Probably wasn't even a 1 ton then! Kinda bugs me trying to buy parts from guys named "Jack Schitt".[IMG] Of course when they do have the good parts they're easy to scoop for next to nothing because they don't realize what they have.
Anyone that has a Dana 60 knows what its worth.
Don't give up Frank, you'll find your 'deal' soon enough!
