AZ-KICKIN\' OFFROAD banner ad is TOO BIG !!!....

I don't know about anyone else, but the banner ad on this forum takes up about the top 1/3 of my screen!!! /forums/images/graemlins/eek.gif

If this is still "in process" I'll shut up....but if this is the final layout, I think it needs some tweaking... /forums/images/graemlins/deal.gif

It's probably because the Garage is soon to be the only forum that bluebies can post in, so it's going to be ad supported. Notice on the main page in the Garage section it says "Supported by azkickin.com" at the bottom.

if they are helping offset the cost of the site, I'm willing to use my scroll bar.

but aesthetically, yes, it's too big.

......I understand about the reason for the banner, but at least on my screen, the overall box size is something like 2.5" x 14"......and the ad itself is only 7.5' wide!!! The right-hand side of that banner window (2.5" x 6.5") is just a big white space!!!

This might be some kind of HTML thing....or an Internet Explorer / Netscape view-type thing... Hmmmmm?

Should I post a screenshot of what mine looks like?

Kinda hard to read, but the layout (and large white space in banner ad) should be obvious..... /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

I'm getting the whitespace at the right too, but there's really nothing good to put in there, so he probably made it a rectangle that spanned the entire screen just to look a little better. /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

or even center it. I'm a fan of HTML banners that can be made to fit. White Space = teh DEVIL!

I agree, centering it wouldn't be all that hard.

Well, it is changed now, but I agree, Greg is using a very small font and a 54" plasma big screen. /forums/images/graemlins/rotfl.gif

Wow! I leave the computer for only 1 hour to go jogging......and CK5 turns on me!! /forums/images/graemlins/rotfl.gif

For the record, my screen in only 21" diagonal (CRT not Plasma) and the resolution is set at 1280 x 1024.

I guess you could say I'm a "show me the big picture" kinda guy.....I hate scrolling around to see stuff, so I always use the highest resolution I can get away with. I like previewing word docs, .pdf's etc. as "one page, one screen, no scrolling" /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif If I could fit 100 threads per forum on a page without scrolling, I'd do that too..... /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

BTW -> The new job pays good, but not THAT good! 54" Plasma...., sheeesh /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

Re: AZ-KICKIN\' OFFROAD banner ad is TOO BIG !!!....

I have the resolution set so I can read it comfortably, 15" monitor and usually hit 'f11' as soon as I come here to limit scrolling. With a bigger monitor I could probably get more 'on screen' at a time...

21" monitor and you only use 1280x1024? I use a 19" and 1600x1200. I have yet to find a website that makes me scroll sideways /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

...BTW -> I think my limiting factor is an old video card that won't support the uber-resolutions.
